“Is the glass half full or half empty?”
This is one of those questions that bothers me. I don’t think the glass is either. It’s a glass that varies in content. Sometimes it’s full, sometimes it’s empty. And there are many levels in between.
One of my favorite images for this idea can be found on a t-shirt. It lays it out for you. I’m with the “stop judging me” crowd.
Since this is a metaphor for life, it holds even more true. Yes, some people will always see the bad and some will always see the good. I tend to be more of a realist. Life is part what you make of it and part what is happening. Yes, you can choose how to act to all situations, but that doesn’t stop them from happening.
Life is really simple, but we insist on making it complicated. – Confucius
