Lifetime Dreams

imagesJune is Migraine & Headache Awareness Month. Migraine & Headache Awareness Month (MHAM) is an annual observation in the United States with the goal of building awareness, educating the public and reducing the stigma associated with Migraine, Cluster Headache and other Headache Disorders. The 2014 blog prompt theme is “Dreaming of a World without Headache and Migraine.”

The MHAM Blog Challenge prompt for today is: “Those who dream by day are cognizant of many things which escape those who dream only by night.” Edgar Allen Poe”.

Some days I like my nighttime dreams. Sometimes they confuse me. And sometimes they outright scare me.

Dreaming by night is all well and good, but it doesn’t compare to dreaming by day.

Anyone who lives, or cares for someone, with chronic pain dreams by day. They dream of a life without pain. A life where they can do the things they want without worrying if that activity will trigger an attack.

Migraineurs dream of being able to eat or drink whatever they feel like. We dream of being able to smell something and not be attacked by it. We want to be able to go outside and enjoy the sunshine, go to the store without worry. We would love to go to concerts, the movies, dance in the rain.

What do you dream about?
