Spring Love

Tell us about another blogger who has influenced your online journey.”

The original purpose of my blog was to write about my journey dealing with chronic migraines. I started out on Health Central, where I read the works of Ellen Schnakenberg and Teri Robert. Both of these ladies have been helpful and inspirational in helping me deal with this difficult journey.

EllenSPhoto-291x3002Ellen can be found on both Health Central and Migraine.com. She is one of three advocates that write for the ACHE (American College of Healthcare Executives) blog. Ellen is a patient educator and advocate for those with migraines. Everything I have ever read by her has reminded me that I could always be worse off than I am now. I also need to keep fighting and never give in to my migraine disease. I need to keep fighting, not only for myself, but also for my children.

teriTeri is a Health Guide on Health Central. She, also, is a patient advocate. Teri is a co-founder of the AHMA (American Headache and Migraine Association). She has always been there to answer any questions I have as well as offering support when medications have not worked.

These ladies inspired me to share my story, not just for myself, but for others out there just beginning this difficult journey.

bloggessWhen I decided to start blogging, I asked friends and family for any advice they could give me. One friend suggested reading The Bloggess. I am so very glad she did. Jenny Lawson is tremendously funny and writes wonderfully. Every time I read something she has written, I find myself laughing. It doesn’t matter how bad I’m feeling, she can always cheer me up.

Princess-Burlap-Profile-1I’m not sure how I stumbled upon Princess Burlap, but I am glad I did. Dayna Jung is also a very funny woman. She writes a lot about her personal life as well as a once weekly post from her dog, Toast. She is very good at using words to tell whatever story she is telling today. She makes me want to be just like her when I write. I am always entertained by what she writes and I want my readers to be entertained as well.

There are other blogs I read fairly frequently, but I will always read something by these four ladies.
